At the Clinique du Grand Paris, we use technology PicoWay®, one of the most powerful lasers in the world for tattoo removal without scarring. Thanks to its ultra-short pulses, it allows Fragment ink pigments in a targeted manner, without attacking the surrounding tissue. Result: a gradual, accurate and safe elimination, with optimal comfort for the patient.

The PicoWay® laser is suitable for all skin phototypes, even the darkest ones, and acts effectively on all tattoo colors, including the most resistant ones (blue, green, red). It is indicated for professional, amateur, aesthetic tattoos (e.g. semi-permanent makeup), or medical tattoos (e.g. radiotherapy tattoo).

Course of a session

The treatment starts with a personalized diagnosis to assess the tattoo (color, depth, age, ink type, skin phototype). The session lasts between 10 and 30 minutes depending on the size of the area to be treated.

One tingling sensation is possible during laser shooting, but it remains brief. A skin cooling system is used to limit discomfort.

After the session, from slight temporary redness or scabs may appear, but they disappear within a few days.

How many sessions are needed?

The number of sessions varies according to:

  • The color and density of the tattoo
  • Its depth in the skin
  • The type of skin
  • The age of tattooing

On average, 4 to 8 sessions spaced between 6 and 8 weeks are necessary for complete or partial erasure depending on the case. An improvement is visible from the first sessions.

Post-session precautions

  • Avoid the sun for 15 days
  • Apply a soothing cream
  • Do not scratch the scabs
  • Keep the area clean and hydrated
